HABITS AND TEMPERMENT OF THE SICILIAN PEOPLE

The mix of ethnically diverse races has formed a particular temperament in the Sicilian people, incredibly generous but, sometimes, very reserved.

The Sicilian people take life with philosophy, accepting adversity while at the same time making light of their own fantasies in order to overcome their misfortunes.

You will experience first-hand their love for their own traditions, the importance of friendship.

.and you will adjust easily to a particular rhythm, often linked to the state of the temperature during the day and the night.

HALISACLUB'S ADVICE

At the restaurant
Usually the Sicilians don't have lunch before 1 p.m. (or even later) and they don't have dinner before 9 p.m. o dopo. "Complete" lunch and dinner are composed of an antipasto, a first course, a second course, a fruit, a dessert. "pasta" is never missing and is usually seasoned with tomatoes, fish, eggplant. and enriched with the aromas of herbs and Mediterranean spices!

Shopping
All of the stores normally remain open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., from Tuesday to Saturday; they are open on Mondays only from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.  In Santa Flavia, Porticello, Aspra, near the halisaClub School, the stores also remain open on Sunday morning. The bars, the restaurants and the pizzerias, particularly during the summer, remain open very late.

The Time Zone
The time zone for Italy is GMT+1 hour.

Electrical Voltage
In Italy, the electrical voltage is 220 volt. If in your country the voltage is different, we advise you to bring an adaptor.
