HALISACLUB'S ADVICE
At the restaurant
Usually the Sicilians don't have lunch before 1 p.m. (or even later) and they don't have dinner before 9 p.m. o dopo. "Complete" lunch and dinner are composed of an antipasto, a first course, a second course, a fruit, a dessert. "pasta" is never missing and is usually seasoned with tomatoes, fish, eggplant. and enriched with the aromas of herbs and Mediterranean spices!
Shopping
All of the stores normally remain open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., from Tuesday to Saturday; they are open on Mondays only from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. In Santa Flavia, Porticello, Aspra, near the halisaClub School, the stores also remain open on Sunday morning. The bars, the restaurants and the pizzerias, particularly during the summer, remain open very late.
The Time Zone
